Why This Season Is The Right Time To Begin Again

Lifestyle

how to reinvent your life

There’s something unmistakable about Spring that shows us the magic of change. Witnessing the days grows longer, and the world filling with color again. We are able to breath in the freshness in every breath. Spring is our annual evidence of what beauty lies in change.

If you've been wondering how to reinvent your life, this season is an invitation to do just that. This post we’ll break down why this season is the best time to start again and how to start now.

Why This Season Is The Right Time To Begin Again

Maybe you’ve been feeling stagnant—not unhappy, just ready for something softer. Something lighter. It may be how the sun rises and sets while at the end of each day you feel like you’ve just been running on autopilot. Or just this nudge of wanting more. I believe we’ve all been there in fact it what I like to call my “big nudge” happened last January. This consuming yearning for more. Not so much material things but a fuller, richer life.

If you’ve felt this similar feeling, it’s normal to become frustrated, or even disappointed, but out of all of those feelings be sure you leave room for compassion and even hope. Because if you’re reading this post now that means you listened to yourself and you’re already taking steps to become the woman you set out to be.

Now if you’re saying to yourself, “I don’t even know who I want to be”, that’s okay to. Reflecting, and getting clear about who you truly want to be and what you want your life to look like is the key to creating your own unique path. One that’s not set by what’s trending or even your favorite influencer, but solely on your heart.

So, start with reflection to get clear about the woman of your dreams. If you need help with journal prompts, there are some great ones in my recent post here! Or simply use the following to help you get started:

  1. What things bring me joy that I can’t buy?
  2. When am I the happiest?
  3. What kind of friend do I want to be?
  4. What are 5 things I wish I could become better at?
  5. If money was no issue, what would I do with my time?
  6. What do I want to be best known for?
  7. What qualities do I admire most in women I look up to?
  8. How do I want to feel each day?
  9. What goals would feel fulfilling rather than impressive?
  10. How do I want to inspire those around me?

The Power of Small Rituals

You don’t need a big plan. It’s the small changes. The small changes that make big change. Once you’ve identified what your dream life looks like it’s time to embody it. I find that the easiest way to do this is by slowing down and romanticizing everything. Creating a ritual out of the small things. No matter what small things in your life bring you joy, the most important part is about being intentional about making them just as much a moment as the big things.

Here are a few ways you can incorporate ritual into your routines:

  • In the morning whether its tea, coffee, or water, make time to just sit for a moment. Before your to do list, and life’s necessities get your time - make sure you give yourself some of your time first.

  • As you get ready for the day, take time to not dress, but to curate. Be creative and thoughtful in deciding how you will show up in the world today. Make it reflect the woman you’re becoming.

  • On your commute whether its too the office, to the grocery store, or to brunch with your girlfriends, use your car ride as your little gratitude bubble. Consider the things you’re grateful for today and even allow yourself to be inspired by the things around you on your journey.

  • Whenever you stop by the grocery store, buy yourself flowers. Just buy them. Worry about where they will go later but indulge in the simple pleasure of doing something kind for yourself, as well as your space.

  • In the evenings, write a love letter to your future self. No matter how long or short, jot down ideas, encouragement, and even dreams you believe your future self to be capable of.

Be Her Today

With small changes, slowly over time patterns begin to take form. Through each small habit, and change your goals should feel inevitable, not merely a dream. It’s focusing less on the actions, and more on the purpose that drives them. This is where lasting change happens. When you identify your why first, the life you have envisioned for yourself just makes sense. And each day as you continue to show up as her, over time you’ll realize you’re living in the moments you dreamed of.

It is never too late to start again; in fact the perfect time is right now. Reinventing your life and creating the one of your dreams does not have to mean you throw away the woman you were before to completely start a new. It’s honoring yourself and letting go of the things that don't serve you to put things the fulfill and uplift you in their place. It’s creating a life that reflects who you are at your core, and living in the best version of that. In this season that could simply mean beginning again in your finances, relationships, or even your career.

Take on your journey day by day. Have grace with yourself. And most importantly show yourself gratitude because you’ve already taken the greatest step.
